Sugar Loaf Mountain

Up behind our place is "Sugar Loaf Mountain" with a communications mast on the top of it.

When you go around the other side of the feature, you can see why it is called "Sugar Loaf".

It is 500 metres above sea level and is capped by a very "business-like" facility.

But its rugged views top those of the "tourist-like" facilities lower down.

Heathcote River

Besides the Avon River, another river flows through Christchurch. These photos are of the middle section of the Heathcote River.

The Heathcote flows through the southern suburbs of Christchurch

It is not quite as picturesque as the Avon.

But it has its attractions.
